Dr Stanley Poh is an Associate Consultant with the Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department. He is also a sub-specialty fellow with the Medical Retina and Surgical Retina Departments under the Advanced Clinical Specialist Programme. His clinical expertise encompasses the management of a common ophthalmological conditions such as cataract and retinal conditions including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr Poh graduated with his Medical Degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, in 2016, where he was a recipient of the SingHealth Undergraduate Medicine Scholarship Award. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the Singapore National Eye Centre, earning his Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology in 2022 and was subsequently inducted as a Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth). In 2024, he was appointed as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
As a passionate educator, Dr Poh has been recognised with numerous teaching accolades, including the 2021 SingHealth RiSE Inspiring Resident-Educator Award, 2021 and 2023 SNEC Educator Awards, and the NUS Medicine Junior Doctor Teaching Award in 2023. His commitment to education led to his appointment as a SingHealth Associate in Education in 2023. Dr Poh’s excellence in residency was further highlighted by the SingHealth Outstanding Resident Award in 2022 and his selection for the prestigious Singapore Chief Residency Programme in 2023. In addition to his clinical and educational roles, Dr Poh is actively engaged in clinical research. His work has been presented at both local and international conferences, earning him the Best Free Paper Award at the Asia Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society (APVRS) in 2023 and the Best ePoster Runner-Up at the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) in 2024.
