What side effects can Cyclophosphamide Injection cause?

Early side effects

  • Nausea, vomiting or appetite loss may be experienced. These may recur for several days.
    There are medicines available, which may prevent or decrease these side effects. If you are given these medicines, take them as directed.
  • A sensation of nose block when the drug is given intravenously may be experienced.

Delayed side effects

  • A drop in the white blood cell counts may occur 7 to 10 days after treatment.
  • Temporary hair loss or thinning may occur several weeks after treatment.
  • Irregular periods or even temporary absence of menstruation may occur in women.
  • In men, temporary sterility may occur during or after treatment.

Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:

  • Fever of 38°C or higher, chills or sore throat.
  • Pain on urination.
  • Redness, swelling or pain at the injection site.
  • Unusual bleeding, bruising or black tarry stools
