Fleet® Oral is bowel cleanser that acts by increasing the water content of your stools. It is a solution which you take by mouth. Each bottle contains one dose which must be diluted with water before use.You need to take Fleet® Oral in order to clean your bowel (also called large intestine or colon) before your endoscopy, bowel surgery or X-ray examination. It is important that your bowel is completely empty so that the doctors can see it clearly. Fleet® Oral is not a treatment for constipation.

Fleet® Oral will usually cause diarrhea within half to one hour after taking the medication. It is advisable to drink more water to prevent dehydration. Avoid going out or making plans on the day before operation as it might be difficult to find a toilet outside.
Other more commonly reported side effects include feeling sick, abdominal pain, bloating, chills, weakness and dizziness.
If any symptoms become bothersome, please contact the doctor immediately.
Fleet® Oral should be taken at ______________. If you cannot finish all the medication at one go, you may drink it slowly over 1 hour.
Fleet® Oral should be mixed with at least 500 mL of cold water, soft drinks (e.g. Coke/Sprite), Ribena or other sweetened beverages. Do not mix with coffee, tea or milk as this can affect the medication. Have your meals before taking the medication. Low-residual diet, for example congee or noodles is recommended. Avoid fibre-rich food, high fat and spicy food as all these foods may irritate the stomach and cause more discomfort.
If you forget to take the medication at the prescribed timing, please take it as soon as you remember.
