The Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) Mobility Clinic is a one-stop, team-based assessment clinic that allows for the holistic care of patients facing mobility challenges – with targeted treatment plans and coordinated follow-up appointments.
What is mobility?
Mobility is the fundamental ability to move freely and easily. Many people overlook limited mobility and continue their daily activities such as playing with grandchildren, cooking or travelling.
At the Mobility Clinic, patients will undergo a comprehensive initial assessment as well as mobility tests by an experienced physiotherapist. A rehabilitation medicine consultant will review the patients’ results and discuss possible options. Patients may be referred for further tests and follow-up appointments, if required.
Assessments include:
For patients referred to the clinic, the focus will be on addressing their mobility issues and concerns. Their chronic medical conditions will continue to be managed by the patients’ trusted general practitioners (GPs) and/or family physicians. We welcome communication and partnership with GPs in a shared care approach to improve the patients’ well-being and overall health.
The SKH Mobility Clinic is led by a team of rehabilitation medicine specialists and physiotherapists.
