Wish you could automate repetitive, high-volume tasks like copy-and-pasting and downloading files? Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is the answer for you. It has saved Singapore General Hospital (SGH) over 84,000 man-hours since 2020, helping the hospital gain about $3 million in productivity.
But first things first: There are no physical robots involved in RPA. It is simply an automation software that is programmed to perform a process traditionally performed by a human on a computer.
During the inaugural RPA Showcase this year, the SGH RPA community came together to exchange expertise and celebrate the efforts of our talented citizen developers in enhancing efficiency, improving productivity, and making work easier for themselves and their colleagues.
SGH RPA Citizen Developers
RPA Citizen Developers are existing, non-technical staff with a passion for improving work processes. They attended RPA training which then equipped them with the skills to script and build automation workflows using RPA. SGH's current pool of RPA Citizen Developers ranges from administrative staff, to nurses and even to allied health professionals. They are key to driving and sustaining digital transformation in SGH.
Find out more about the benefits of automation from Citizen Developer and Senior Radiographer, Kuan-Ming who embraced smart technology and digital innovation with gusto to positively impact change.
