Professorship in Geriatric Oncology

Mr Kuok Khoon Hong is the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Wilmar International, one the world’s largest agribusiness companies. Under Mr Kuok’s leadership, Wilmar International has grown to become a global leader in the agribusiness industry, with operations in over 50 countries. The company’s core businesses include palm oil, sugar, and soybean, and it is also involved in other areas such as fertilisers, grains, and edible oils. Wilmar International has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability and the company has also been involved in various social and community projects, including the building of schools and hospitals in rural areas.

This Professorship in Geriatric Oncology established with a generous gift of $2.5m from Mr Kuok will drive strong, transformative geriatric oncology research and education programmes that will help optimise cancer treatment for elderly cancer patients. This Professorship will greatly enhance Oncology Academic Clinical Programme (ONCO ACP)'s efforts to provide high-quality cancer education and undertake translational research in the field of Geriatric Oncology. Students, healthcare professionals, patients and the ageing community will all greatly benefit from the talents that this Professorship will attract and retain.
